About the Documentarian: Gloria Ann Terry

As the Director and Founder of Grace Academy of Small Wonders, I am deeply committed to empowering

young girls as they navigate the journey to womanhood. At the heart of our mentoring program is a passion to instill godly values, cultivate self-worth, and equip each girl with the emotional, social, and spiritual tools she needs to thrive. We are raising a generation of confident, purpose-driven young women who can stand strong—even in the face of negative cultural pressures.

Alongside this mission, I am a passionate mental health advocate dedicated to supporting the emotional well-being of girls and their families. My advocacy extends beyond mentoring into the powerful world of filmmaking, where I have co-produced three groundbreaking documentaries designed to elevate voices that are too often silenced. Through storytelling, I aim to confront hard truths, spark honest conversations, and inspire healing and transformation—especially within marginalized communities.

My most recent film, Homicide and Suicide in the Black Community: Addressing the Impact of Trauma and Hopelessness, is a raw and timely exploration of the mental health crisis affecting countless Black families. With heartfelt interviews, expert commentary, and lived experiences, the film brings attention to generational trauma, systemic inequities, spiritual disconnection, and even the role of music in shaping cultural norms. But this is more than a documentary—it is a movement. A bold call to action for mental health professionals, faith leaders, families, and advocates to unite in healing, restoration, and renewed hope.

Everything I do—whether mentoring a young girl or producing a transformative film—is fueled by one purpose: to restore dignity, awaken identity, and drive real, lasting change.
